ANT McPartlin’s good friend Cat Deeley is the “perfect fit” for a starring role alongside Declan Donnelly on Saturday Night Takeaway, a new report has claimed.
The Daily Star report TV insiders believe Cat could stand in for Ant in the final two episodes of the ITV show.
Yesterday Ant went back to rehab to get treatment following his arrest on Sunday.
He was charged with drink driving and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on April 4.
While this weekend’s Saturday Night Takeaway has been called, the final two episodes will go ahead.
And it’s claimed 41-year-old Cat – who lives in Florida where the finale is being filmed – could come to lend a hand.
An insider claimed: “Cat can bring the feel good nostalgia that producers desperately need right now.
“She had brilliant on-screen chemistry with Ant and Dec for more than five years and would fit in perfectly.”
Cat starred alongside Ant and Dec on SMTV live from 1998 to 2003.
Last month The Sun revealed how the trio had to pull the plug on their plans for a 20th anniversary special episode after struggling to find the time to get together.

An insider said: “Given the massive interest in the show’s comeback, they have decided to give themselves another year to make sure it’s absolutely perfect.
“It’s now looking like it will be a 21st anniversary celebration, rather than the 20th. They’re aiming for 2019 instead.”
Since his arrest, Ant has cancelled all of his future TV commitments, with friends telling The Sun he will not appear on Britain’s Got Talent or I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here.
The Sun Online has contacted Cat’s representative for comment.
